The new 62,500 ft. North building expansion project included the renovation of the Addison Franklin Page and the Charles & Charlotte Price Galleries, meant to be the new home of the Speed Art Museum’s Native American collections.

The Scope

Completed in collaboration with Solid Light Inc. from Louisville KY, our scope of work included long wall cases and some freestanding cases to display a variety of objects made of highly sensitive organic materials that were made from individuals who were living in the plains region of North America.

The collection includes an incredible dress made of leather and beadwork, objects made of dyed porcupine quills and a large feather headdress.

Challenge

The timeline for this project was certainly our biggest challenge, with only 14 weeks to design, fabricate and install the cases.

Our Solutions

Efficient collaboration and communication between the project designer, the curatorial staff and the exhibit fabricator was key to successfully deliver this project on time.
